Supporting local artists is the key to our vision here at Blackwater Gallery, along with supporting our represented artists in all of their hard work and dedication.

Throughout the whole of summer 2018, we attended a number of BA & MA university shows through out Wales and England, to see the next generation of up and coming artists, and to see what the future holds. Keep a close eye on Jon Wall whose work will be showcasing at Blackwater Gallery very soon.

We didn't stop there, we travelled and searched to see exactly what was happening in the undergrounds of the art world.

Exhibition: Christian Hook at Althorp, Althorp Literary Festival

Location: Althorp Estate Northampton

We were also very honoured to be invited to the Althorp estate by Clarendon which was celebrating the Althorp's Literary Festival. Honouring the huge success of Sky Arts Portrait Artist of the year in 2014, Christian Hook. His critically acclaimed paintings are held in important private collections around the world, including that of His Royal Highness Prince Edward, as well as in the permanent collection of the Scottish National Gallery, the Museum of Liverpool and the Bolton Museum. 

Christian's works were hung in the Picture Gallery of the house for the very special occasion. His work was surrounded by the extensive collection of portraits which includes Anthony van Dyck's War and Peace.

This was one exhibition to remember!
