At blackwater we are so lucky to get up close and personal to the works at the artists studio. We get to see the making in action and understand the ideas, struggles and contemplation an artist experiences in their studio space.
Every step of the way
It's important for us to be there every step of the way!
The magic behind all of this is that we get an insight into the whole process, from the wet canvas on the easel to the canvas hung on our gallery wall. This lets Blackwater Gallery have a true connection between the artist and their work, which we can then relate to you personally as you experience a piece of art in our gallery for the first time.

We are looking forward to the journey we have ahead with our artists. Supporting local and emerging artists into the art world through exhibiting their works, and making sure their work is shown and their feelings are known and conveyed to the public.

A new home
Seeing a piece of art which moves you emotionally is a very personal connection. You know when you truly love a piece when it speaks to you. Everyone buys art for many reasons. For us we saw this piece and had to give it a new home here in Cardiff. Soon who knows where 'Young Grace' by Artist Pierre Williams will live.
