Welsh painter and new breakthrough artist to Blackwater, James Leonard allocates his time between capturing the scenic beauty of Wales and the South of France through his paintings.
Having pursued Architecture at the University of the West of England, Leonard delved into its visualisation for over a decade, seamlessly incorporating architectural elements and composition into his artwork, infused with their painterly flair. James's passion lies in the exploration of light and colour, frequently experimenting with innovative techniques, particularly in painting contre-jour.
Notably, he has recently participated in the filming of the upcoming series of Landscape Artist of the Year and is set to make an appearance on the show in early 2024.
